Workshops and Courses
June 18, 2021
June 18th, three days before Father’s Day is Wear Blue Day, ten (10) days from my 65th birthday.
Wear BLUE Day is a part of the year-round Wear BLUE® awareness campaign created by Men’s Health Network to raise awareness about the importance of male health and encourage men to live longer and healthier lives and give women an opportunity to encourage them to do so.
I wanted to do something different this year as I have been a fundraiser and advocate for men’s health for a number of years.
This year it is a TALK-A-THON on June 18th and I will be talking for 12 hours to whoever wants to listen and who might want to join me in a conversation about men’s mental health and “Living your Life”.
I have no concrete agenda but will be speaking and sharing my experience as a paramedic, depression, and the innate wellbeing and resilience we all have. I am encouraging people to engage in a conversation with me either through the chat function or by joining me in the studio.
I will be supporting these three charities:
- Canadian Mental Health Association (Cowichan Valley Branch)
- Wounded Warriors Canada
- Honour House Society
**** On June 18th I will post a link to Canada Helps which is taking the donations on behalf of the three charities listed. ****
100% of the funds raised will be distributed via your wishes as you can pick who and how much each of the organizations listed will receive.
The goal is $6500 and the campaign will end on my birthday June 28th.
The event will be live broadcasted on the Unbroken Hero Project page. So make sure you like and follow the page along with expressing at least an interest in watching (NOT ALL 12 HOURS silly) or dropping in for a conversation.
You will be supporting a very worthwhile cause that will help many men and women and support our Emergency First Responders in this Province and across our great country.
With much love and respect,
